Peach, Lemon and Iced Tea Agua Fresca

Make this colorful agua fresca any time of the day for a refreshing way to enjoy peaches, lemon and iced tea all in one sip.

Ingredients

For the Cold Brewed Tea (Can Substitute with Prepared Ice Tea if Preferred):

  • 2 cups cold water
  • 3 black tea bags

For the Agua Fresca:

  • 2 cups Cold brewed tea
  • 3 fresh peaches skin and pit removed and discarded
  • 1 whole lemon juiced
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or to taste) (if preferred, use sugar to taste)

For Serving and Garnish:

  • Ice cubes for serving
  • 4 peach slices for garnish

Instructions

For the Cold Brewed Tea:

  • To make the cold brewed tea for this recipe, which is 2 servings, use a thoroughly cleaned medium-size glass container with a lid and fill it with 2 cups of cold water, add 3 regular size black tea bags (with the strings hanging over the top edge of the container).
    Cover the container with a lid and put it in the refrigerator overnight for at least 6 hours.
  • After its brewed, remove and discard the tea bags from the container and store the tea covered with a lid in the refrigerator for not more than a day for the best flavor and freshness.

For the Aqua Fresca:

  • Peaches - Remove the skin and pits from the peaches and discard. Cut the peach flesh into medium size chunks.
  • Add Ingredients to Blender - In a blender, add the cold brewed tea, cut peaches, lemon juice and honey.
  •  Blend - Blend on the smoothie or juice setting until smooth.
  •  Do a taste test and add more honey (or sugar) if needed.

Serve:

  •  Serve right away over a lot of ice and garnish with peach slices.

Notes

TIP

  1. When making an agua fresca with fruit that has a lot of pulp, for a thinner consistency the mixture can be poured thru a mesh strainer.
