Slow Cooker Spicy Ground Turkey Sloppy Joes
It only takes 35 minutes or less to prep the ingredients for these ground turkey sloppy Joes and put them in the slow cooker – then the day is yours.
The slow cooker is such a helper in the kitchen and can be used year-round to make delicious meals.
In the summer I especially like to use a slow cooker because it doesn’t heat up the kitchen as much as an oven does.
After making a delicious meal in a slow cooker, so often when it’s late in the eve and I’m too tired to clean that big old slow cooker pot, I tell myself…
…this should really soak overnight before I clean it, and of course there’s no argument from me on the matter.
And there it sits on the counter only to greet me in the morning!
About the Ingredients
In this sloppy Joe recipe, I used ground turkey because I like how ground turkey soaks up the sauce and flavors in sloppy Joes.
To spice this recipe up, it has hot sauce and jalapenos.
Sloppy Joes are so good when served on a soft bun or roll.
I used Hawaiian rolls, but soft hamburger buns taste really good too.
About Serving
These sloppy Joes are great when feeding a crowd so that each guest can just serve themselves.
All they need are some slider rolls and a large serving spoon for the warm sloppy Joes.
Let’s check out the ingredients.
Cooked and browned ground turkey, green bell pepper, onion, garlic, jalapeno peppers (red or green), hot sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, pepper, salt and water
Equipment – 5-quart slow cooker (crockpot) or larger

Next,
…stir together until the meat is coated with the ketchup mixture.
Cover with a lid and cook on the low setting for 6 hours.
When the sloppy Joes are done cooking, stir together.
Serve warm on…
…soft buns or rolls.
Being true to its name,
…extra napkins may be required.
