9 Quick and Easy Appetizers
These are simple to make and quick to disappear.
Do you ever draw a blank when it comes to what to make for an appetizer?
This happens to me all the time and since I’m always pressed for time, I need to come up with something that’s quick and easy to make.
It’s nice to have a little something for guests (and the chef) to snack on that’s light enough so it wont fill everyone up for dinner.
Or then there are times when heavy appetizers may be in order.
Flatbread pizzas are a good option when appetizers are more of the main meal.
Here’s a variety of appetizer ideas that are quick and easy to make.
Let’s check them out.
Below each of the following images, there’s a link to the respective post with step-by-step instructions, pictures and a printable recipe.
Brie and Olive Tapenade Nachos – This recipe has homemade tortilla chips but you could use store-bought chips instead if you like.
For the olive tapenade, if your local market has an olive bar just get the olives without seeds, take them home and chop them up.
Or put them in a small food processor if you have one.
If your market doesn’t have an olive bar, just chop up some black olives, and green olives with pimentos from a can or jar. These are really tasty.
Wonton Cheese Bites – These are crunchy on the outside and melted cheesy on the inside.
Feel free to add any cheese you have on hand in the middle.
The softer the better so it’s sure to melt when the wontons are fried.
This recipe also includes some quick dipping sauce ideas.
Smoked Paprika and Lime Spice Popcorn – Just a dab will do ya when it comes to smoked paprika and it tastes ever so good on popcorn.
Add salt, butter and top with fresh lime juice and just like that you’ll have a fun and spicy appetizer for guests to snack on.
The popcorn is really good with smoked paprika.
Simple Guacamole – Grab a bag of your favorite tortilla chips, make this guacamole and it will be the life of the party.
Don’t be shy with the salt in the guac though. The salt really brings out the flavor.
The fresh lime juice in the guac gives it great flavor and also keeps the color a pretty bright green.
Easy Garlic Bread – Garlic bread is so good right out of the oven. And it’s not bad after it cools off a bit either.
Try this super easy recipe for garlic bread and cut it into small pieces for quick appetizer.
If you have any spaghetti sauce on hand it would make a nice dipping sauce too.
Grilled Cheese Roll-Ups – These are downright fun to make and eat.
I found that slices of American cheese work best because they melt nicely as the bread is crisping up in the pan.
These yummies may disappear quickly.
Mini Shrimp Tostadas – An appetizer that’s as pretty as it is delicious.
I always need to make extra shrimp when I make these because they’re so hard to stop sampling.
Pico de Gallo – Another appetizer that’s super easy to make is pico de gallo. Super fresh and so full of flavor for just a few ingredients.
Grab a bag of your fave tortilla chips along with this pico de gallo and you’re good to go.
For something a little different, the dark blue tortilla chips look really pretty along side the bright colors of the pico de gallo.
Olive Tapenade on Garlic Toast – This can be whipped up in no time.
If your market has an olive bar that’s great or grab a can of black olives, a jar of green olives with pimentos, and some capers if you have time.
Chop them up, add a little olive oil and that’s it.
