This marmalade and raspberry smoothie is ready in minutes and tastes wonderful for breakfast, a snack or dessert.

Orange Raspberry Smoothie

A smoothie is great for a quick and easy sweet snack.

Maybe the weather is cold where you are, but a smoothie might just be the perfect get-away to remind you of summer.

While sipping on a smoothie you can pretend your feet are in the sand and you’re at the beach.

On the other hand, that might be hard to imagine if there’s snow outside.

But you can still enjoy this delightful smoothie.

About this Recipe

Packed with a double dose of orange (orange marmalade and orange juice), and extra vanilla extract, this smoothie has a taste reminiscent of a 50-50 orange and vanilla ice cream bar.

It even has some raspberries, kale (optional) and flax seeds (optional) in it for good measure.

About the Order of Ingredients

Although this smoothie tastes wonderful when the ingredients are added to the blender in a random order*…

…A rule of thumb is to add the liquids and soft ingredients in the blender first, and then the harder ingredients last.

So, for example to the blender jar,

  • First, add liquids such as juice, water or milk
  • Second, add soft ingredients like yogurt, fresh (unfrozen) cut fruit and berries, or honey
  • Then add items such as frozen cut fruit and berries, vegetables or nuts
  • Lastly add the ice

When blending a smoothie, to avoid an air pocket from forming by the blade in the blender jar, there needs to be a good balance between the liquid and frozen ingredients (including ice).

* In the pictures below, the ingredients are added to the blender in a random order.

Let’s check out the ingredients.
