Meaty Eats and Sweets for Dad on Father’s Day

Simple comfort food goodness is what comes to mind when I think of recipes to make for Dad on Father’s Day.
Here are some of those kind of recipes that may be just the thing for Dad to sink his teeth into on Father’s Day.
And of course, no need to wait until Father’s Day to enjoy them.

Cheeseburger with Sautéed Onions – The onions are caramelized with red wine and the bread has crispy edges from toasting it in the skillet with the leftover juices from cooking the burger.
Butterfinger Brownies – This brownie stack has Butterfinger candy bars inside of each brownie, then it’s topped with crumbled butterfinger candy and drizzles of melted chocolate.
Citrus Surf and Turf – Flap meat steak seasoned with a few spices and lime juice.
Then cooked on the grill and sliced just before serving and topped with shrimp cooked in butter, garlic and paprika until there are these small crunchy bits on them.
Snickerdoodle Skillet Biscuits – The pictures say it all…these biscuits taste really good.
Slow Cooker Taco Meat – A saucy taco meat that tastes amazing in a crispy corn tortilla taco shell. Extra napkins required.
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies – Soft cookies that are seriously hard to stop eating.
Simple Fried Chicken – This fried chicken is made with just salt, pepper, flour and cooked in canola oil.
It’s the recipe that my grandmother made and I always make extra because the leftovers are scrumptious when served cold right out of the fridge.
Also, gravy can be made with the little crunchy bits left in the pan after frying the chicken which is ridiculously good when served on mashed potatoes.
Bourbon Glazed Bananas and Streusel Dessert – Bananas are sautéed in butter, maple syrup and Bourbon, then while they’re hot, served over ice cream and topped with a crunchy homemade streusel.
Chicken Fried Pork Medallions – A pork loin cut into medallions and lightly fried the same way as the fried chicken above.
The drippings in the pan make the best gravy which can be a dipping sauce, served over mashed potatoes or even both.
