Mini Pizzas with Easy Homemade Pizza Sauce
Pile on your favorite toppings and enjoy each and every bite of these mini pizzas.
No matter how you look at it, pizza is downright delicious.
And a good pizza sauce can really make a pizza taste delicious.
About the Pizza Sauce
An easy homemade pizza sauce is included in this recipe.
And the spices in it can be adjusted to the particular tastes that you like.
The pizza sauce in this recipe can be customized by adding fresh garlic, tomato paste, hot red pepper flakes or a little sugar if you prefer a sweet taste.
About the Bread
For the bread or “pizza crust”, mini-Kaiser rolls are used.
I love how Kaiser rolls are slightly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
Bread from the middle of the rolls is removed to form a small “well” for the pizza sauce.
Other types of bread to use for making small pizzas include Naan bread, English muffins, sliced French bread, and even flour tortillas.
About the Toppings
And for the toppings, this pizza has mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, pepperoni and sliced black olives.

granulated garlic,
olive oil,
pepper and salt.
Stir together.

For the Pizza:
Slice off the top of each roll leaving about three quarters of the actual roll as the base for the pizza.

Just make sure to leave ample amount of crust (and some of the bread) around all of the edges.
The bread should look like small “bowls”.
Set aside for a moment.
Cut the pepperoni into quarters.
Slice the olives (or use canned pre-sliced olives).
Grate or shred the mozzarella cheese (or use pre-shredded mozzarella cheese).
Spoon the pizza sauce in the middle of the bread bowls.
Add half of the mozzarella cheese (reserve the rest of the mozzarella cheese for another layer of toppings).
Then add half of the pepperoni (reserving the rest of the pepperoni for the next layer of toppings).
Add half of the black olives.
Sprinkle half of the grated Parmesan cheese on top of the pizza.
Then add another layer of the toppings.
First add the remaining mozzarella cheese.
Then add the pepperoni, olives, and Parmesan cheese.
Bake in a preheated oven (at 375 degrees F.) for about 15 minutes or until the cheese melts.
Serve warm.

Instead of wasting the bread from the roll by hollowing it out, why not use the bottom of a heavy glass to make the impression? Kaiser rolls are soft enough inside to do that with, and no waste.
Hi Robin, that would work nicely too and with no waste which is even better. Thank you for mentioning this.
How cute are these. What a fun dinner idea!
Hi Russell, thank you!
